Newport :: Noteworthy
Newport on the Levee has become an entertainment and shopping hub for Greater Cincinnati. Part mall, part tourist destination, the Levee boasts a multi-screen movie theater, a large game arcade, a comedy club, and many stores and restaurants. One of its major attractions is the Newport Aquarium. In addition to the first baby shark ray on exhibit in this Hemisphere, the Aquarium contains 70 exhibits including over 200 feet of acrylic tunnels where sharks and other species swim over, below and beside visitors.
The Levee, at the foot of the Purple People Bridge, also hosts many outdoor festivals and special events on its riverfront plaza.

Mansion Hill boasts many gorgeous homes that have been well maintained over the years. East Row is another historic district, but with much more modest dwellings in a comfortable neighborhood setting.
Since the 1970s the city and residents have been working to preserve the historic homes of Mansion Row and the East Row Historic District. Original to Newport, these neighborhoods feature stately homes that date back more than 100 years.
