Colerain Township :: Noteworthy

Colerain Noteworthy VinokletVinoklet Winery is one of only a few working wineries in the Greater Cincinnati area. Cincinnati had been producing wines since the 1800s, when wine producer Nicholas Longworth planted the first grapes that could withstand our cold winters.

By 1860, Ohio led the nation in wine production, but a several crop diseases and lack of workers during the Civil War led to the demise of wine making in the area. In the 1960s, new varieties of grapes were developed, and this led to the founding of Vinoklet in 1984.

Located on 30 acres of beautiful rolling hills and lakes in Colerain Township, it produces award-winning wines that are available in its restaurant. Indoor and outdoor weddings and receptions are a specialty of Vinoklet, and a bed and breakfast is located on the property. Everything is open to the public, and visitors are invited to stroll through its lovely fields.
