Over The Rhine :: Noteworthy

Over the Rhine Noteworthy 1Over-the-Rhine has two very different Noteworthy attractions. First is Music Hall, home to the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras, The Cincinnati Opera and the Cincinnati May Festival. Designed by architect Samuel Hannaford, Music Hall was built to replace the May Festival's original Saengerfest Hall and opened just in time for the 1878 May Festival. Renovated and updated, its main hall seats over 3500 and its acoustics are considered among the finest in the world. An attached Ballroom is the second largest meeting space in the city and hosts many large events.

Over the Rhine Noteworthy 2A few blocks away from Music Hall, Findlay Market is Ohio's oldest continuously operated public market. Open Wednesdays through Sundays, it is home year round to indoor merchants selling, among other things, meat, fish, poultry, produces, spices, cheeses, deli foods and flowers.

From April through November on Saturdays and Sundays, there is a bustling farmers' market, dozens of outdoor vendors, street performers and outdoor events. It's a great place to shop for fresh foods or just stoll around and eye the beautifully displayed products. It's also fun for lunch or brunch, since many vendors offer food to be eaten on the spot at handy tables or while enjoying a Music In The Market performance.
